life

december has been ultra busy -- i desperately need to do a real post, but i am not sure when i will have time to...

have been doing some scrapping, not a lot, but some...

been dog sitting since yesterday...

had a wonderful Christmas -- celebrated Christ's birth, spent time with family & friends, gave & received awesome gifts...

saw "the princess & the frog" -- this is a classic!!! it is awesome!!!

been cleaning some...i now have some floor in my room & a lot of recycling & trash & donations to go out...

done some after Christmas shopping -- some new sweaters & shirts & a new book...going to do some shopping tomorrow, too...

better blogging coming soon...i promise!!

as you can see, i have now added a background (if barb can do it, so can i!)...i need to fix my header...but i need to get the right photo to use...

the best cow ever!!

last night i was regaled with a tale about the best cow ever!!

now, this cow has a wonderful Godmother/aunt who does wonderful things for him...and last night i was privileged to hear the story of the most pleasing performance by a cow in a nativity ever!!

my friend, tina, was telling us about her Godson, johnny, in his christmas play the other day at school -- he is in kindergarten...now, johnny is tall for his age, and parts were given out based on who fit in what costume, so johnny was able to be the cow...now, some kids would close down and be sad or not want to participate if they are "just" the cow, but not dear johnny...according to tina, johnny knew every song and hand motion, he could have performed the entire play on his own, from what i understand!!

now, the cow was obviously the star of the show this time, not mary the mother of Jesus (she had the audacity to CRY for part of the performance!) or joseph, Jesus' earthly father (he dared to YAWN!)...

i just wish i had seen this best cow ever!!!

flu misting my life...

i should be able to better keep up this blogging thing now -- they say it takes 21 days to create a habit...and i only missed 1 out of 30...so the habit may now be here!!

today i was lucky enough to get the H1N1 vaccine at work -- it was the mist version -- i was really up in the air about this because i think a lot of the hype is people being paranoid with this flu...however, i work with students with poor immune systems as it is, and if i got sick (but not bad) or came to work while contagious, i would feel awful for getting one of the kiddos sick. so, i bucked up and snorted some live virus up my nose...the mist vaccine feels SO weird! but i survived (so far) and so did the other students and staff that received it...

do you vaccinate for the flu? just seasonal? are you worried about the H1N1?

another productive day!

today, like yesterday, was super productive!

my list today included:

• finish the laundry
• church & teach power hour
• decorate the tree
• get the nativities up
• clean off the scrap table (totally!!)
• get the Giving Trees up at church

and it seems like i did more, lol, i just can't remember it all!!

having a productive day just feels so good!!

today i:

• got the tree up w/ my dad (need to decorate)
• got the majority of the laundry finished
• went to target
• brought up some ornaments
• cleaned my scrappy table off (mostly!)
• ran taxi for my neighbor, lol

and, it is only a little after 9, so i think i will go finish up more of the laundry now...yay!

where is my break going?!?! time is flying!!

today i did a little shopping -- but not near as early as i may have in past years...i left about 11 and was home by 1...i went to costco & picked up a few things & then i headed to target where it was busy, but not horrible...

last night i stopped at michaels and stocked up on some new cricuit cartridges! so fun!

forgot to post yesterday!! i think i even had it open to post at some point, lol

yesterday was a lovely day -- at work i was with a student on team, we watched the movie "up" and then had turkey smash...after work i saw my friend barb really quick at michaels, and then went to target (i always remember my own bags since i get to save a nickel every time, lol)...bubble bath and bed -- what a lovely day!!

now i am on my 5 day weekend for thanksgiving! shopping & chinese for lunch today; followed by church tonight...what a way to live!!

it is suppose to rain....it is also a crazy day at work, but i will be on team with a kiddo and they are watching an "uplifting movie" lol...

i am planning to stop a couple places after work -- the bank, target, & maybe hobby lobby...but if the rain is horrid, i may just scrap that idea!!

sunday musings...

or rambling, if you will...

today was a low-key day...i have a cold, but i went up to teach power hour. however, there was only 1 kid from my class there today, so norah went down with her sister to the next class up from mine...this was a blessing for me because i got to go home & doze away the afternoon!! this helped me feel a ton better!! i also learned that they are actually going to do the nativity as the Christmas program because we finally have enough kids who are old enough :) they are not just doing the story, but they are going to be costumed like Mary & Joseph & shepherds...

last night i got to have friends over to share about photoworks.com which is american greeting's answer to shutterfly and snapfish and the like...the quality was really good -- i ordered matte prints, a mouse pad, a photo tile, some note cards, and a photo magnet -- and most of the items came really quick...they also packaged all my items wonderfully...what i didn't like was the shipping -- luckily mine was free -- because it was a lot!!! it was fun to just hang out with friends and show them some of the fun things you can order as gifts or whatever...

this week will be nice at work -- only 2 days!! tomorrow will be a kind of normal day, but tuesday i will be on team all day with one student and then it is TURKEY SMASH which is one of my least favorite days at work each year, lol...it is a loud, obnoxious, pep rally-esque atmosphere that gives me a horrid headache...we will see how it goes this year!!!!

then we are on to a 5 day weekend :) thanksgiving dinner with my godparents, chinese buffet for lunch one day, maybe some shopping...and setting up the tree on friday!!

not much else happening...hopefully to bed early tonight!

today was a long day...i had work (which was fine, it was a nice day) and then i cropped with friends at archivers...i also have a very stuffed up nose right now, so that does not make the day any nicer, lol


tomorrow is a haircut & then a class at for keeps sake...i also MUST clean because i am having a few people over tomorrow night...sheesh!!

rainy day...

it was a rainy monday (and still is!!)...the day had a bad start at work -- a textbook falling out of a locker can hurt, but i did my job and deflected it from hitting the kid i was working with straight on!! he got it a tiny bit and was upset for a bit...but then the day started looking up once he finished some homework and had his lunch...the afternoon ended up pretty nice :)

tomorrow is suppose to be a little rainy (from what i know!) but it will be a wonderful day :)

thankful for our veterans

(and all our military!)

thank you to all the military men & women out there who have blessed me & my fellow American's with freedoms we often take for granted. thank you to their families. thank you for the sacrifices & thank you for what will happen in the future. GOD bless our veterans.

fun project!

back in my before/after school care days, we made this gigantic turkey one year before thanksgiving -- it took up an entire wall!! every tail feather has something that one of our kids was thankful for.

i think that is about it!! i am going to attempt to be a better blogger now...but this is a sad time of year for me...i love the holiday season, but i also hate the holiday season...

been sick...

i have spent 2 days at home sick -- no it was NOT h1n1...i had a bad cold with a mild fever (never above 100.4)...wednesday i felt just icky all day, fever was gone during the day, then came back that night...today i felt so so so much better! fever has stayed away, more stuffed up than i had been...

classes are now finished...i missed tonight's (my last MAT class ever!)...in a few weeks i will know how i did!

another class finished -- thursday night signals the end of my MAT and then all i need for certification is practicum & student teaching! woohoo!!

thursday is also field trip day at work...and i get to go, so i am happy...

next week is the end of my classes, so i have projects & papers to finish for next week...

this week looks pretty low key (such a nice feeling!) and i am going to bed soon -- i need to catch up on some sleep!!

this is post 700...it is also october 1, and i am going to attempt to post something, no matter how brief, every day this month...

tomorrow (friday) is going to be a long-ish day -- work, stop at mad science, then RETREAT TIME! i am so excited for this year's retreat with for keeps sake -- lots of time to create and have tons of fun with all my scrappy friends!

i really enjoyed this book! i think it is my favorite book about robert langdon...there were some awesome twists in the story and it was wonderful to have the story take place in the USA!! i recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read -- especially if they like mysteries or history...

crazy times...

life has been very busy lately...2 classes, full time work, part time work, a social life, church...do i have time for any of it???

classes i am in are going well -- depending on the grade in one class, i will have my masters come the end of october! :) certification will be complete once i student teach in fall 2010...

full time work is crazy -- as it always is when young teens are involved! -- lots of fun projects happening...and kids are getting less crabby...i have been able to truly do some real language arts teacher things -- like give oral fluency tests! yay me!

part time work is just busy as we start another year with trainings and assignments of places...

been scrapping all the time, lol...although this friday we are going to paint pottery! saturday is the scrapping day this weekend :)

church has been good -- power hour was fun on sunday, but it is going to be an interesting year! i hope more kids start coming :(

off to check my facebook farm (country life) and then head to bed!
