FKS Kids Camp!

For Keeps Sake is doing a KIDS CAMP this summer!

And I will be teaching it!

It is for 4 days (M-Th) from noon to 2:30.

It is the week of June 18, July 22 and August 6.

It is $45 for all 4 days!!!

Kids will make: an "aargh, keep out" sign, a treasure box, a 5x5 mini book, a coaster book and a photo frame.

They will have a light snack each day (please have them eat lunch BEFORE camp) and will also get a PIRATES at FKS t-shirt and a photo to go in their frame.

shoes & stuff

so i bought 3 pairs of shoes in 2 days! 1 pair of black mary jane crocs and 2 pairs of ROCKETDOGS! they are SO comfortable!!

last week was emotionally draining with the last day with kids on thursday and my girl moving to california this summer -- i will miss her so much! we did nothing really, watched some movies, field day, special lunches & breakfasts, etc etc etc

friday i went to a crop -- it ends at 11, i left at 9 because i was so tired!!! BUT, i did finish 4 pages :)

saturday i attempted the DMV (again) -- i checked their website before i left just in case they were closed for memorial day and the website just had hours open (including saturdays) -- and they were CLOSED -- sucks to get up early & use gas to go someplace that is closed and there was no way to know until you got there...

oh well! it is summer now & i am suppose to be getting ready for church, so toodles!

what's been happening...

1) i am FINALLY signed up for my summer class! it has only taken a month or more!

2) the DMV sucks more than any vaccuum we have ever owned!! if they would just have CLEAR lists/instructions/etc available online or on the documents you have so you would know what to have and why, it would be MUCH easier! all i need to do is switch the title on my car...

3) 2 more days of school left with kids...the one day cleaning, etc

4) i have more info & fun craft stuff for ukraine! woohoo! we are at a NEW congregation doing VBS!!

5) my room & house are a mess so i am happy to have time off soon

6) i WON a swap at croppers cottage! it was for dancing with the stars -- i picked apollo & he won! so i win a cool assortment of goodies :)

7) i have a pirate themed kids camp coming up at For Keeps Sake -- 4 days a week, 3 different weeks -- we are making: a door sign, a treasure box, a small album, a picture frame and a coaster album! it will be a lot of fun!!

8) nothing much else, i don't think...

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

another reason i love my current job....

so i went to my old work's spring fling with a couple of friends -- to say hi to those we used to work with and give ian a chance to play -- i walked by (and made eye contact with) my former boss (ie the preschool director) no less than 5 times -- she never ONCE said a word to me! how's that for service? would you want your kids to have a director like that?? she also said to my friend (who has not worked there in about 2 years) "i didn't realize you no longer worked here" -- this is quality?!!?!?

croppin' this weekend :)

i am going to a crop to benefit Nurses for Newborns this weekend!

tomorrow night i will be cropping from about 7 pm to midnight and 8 to 3 on saturday

goodie bags, fun, a few free classes, all sorts of fun stuff happening this weekend :)

i am taking some class kits that i have and will work on those (at least friday night) and then i can go from there for saturday!

rainy days and flowers

went on a field trip today to the missouri botanical gardens

it rained all day

stayed pretty dry under umbrellas during our one hour tour with a docent

kids made terrariums

saw some awesome sculptures from africa -- and saw two of the artists working

saw some beautiful flowers

saw some chihuly glass that the gardens now own

saw part of the inside of shaw's home

took a few photos, but not many...

done...i think

i am done with all the homework i will need to have done for my class this term....even reading the book for next week's lit circle!

now to figure out if there is a class i can take this summer...
