bad blogger!

i have been around...not doing too too much, just hanging out!

tomorrow i am meeting up with a lady i used to work with for lunch -- she is also going to do one of the references i need for a job i am applying for! i haven't seen her since the end of may, so it will be nice to just get together and chat for a bit...

today i worked some at the LSS helping to bag up make 'n' take kits for saturday...i will be doing more of that in the next couple days as well :)

stopped at the post office today, and going to end up beck there tomorrow -- today i needed stamps for resumes -- tomorrow i will be mailing off some swaps & such to all reaches of the country...

it has been HOT here lately!! hit over 100 today, and that is WITHOUT the 70% humidity!!!!!! i am so happy our power is working just fine (knock on wood, lol)

gas got up to $3.09 a gallon (and usually missouri is pretty low compared to other places) but it is down to $2.92! woohoo!!

i have been a library fiend lately -- it all started when my neighbor, matthew, wanted to check out some CDs and does not have a card -- so i checked them out for him...i have read about 6-8 library books in the past month, watched 2 movies and listened to some CDs of my own!! in fact, i have a book i need to finish so i can return the book tomorrow!! eek!

"the last templar" by raymond khoury is my current read! it is a wonderful novel. it is coming from the same vein of thought as "the da vinci code" and so many other books right now, but this one has a fresh twist to it! knights destroying the Met in NYC...an archeologist falling for a CIS agent...diving for treasure...it blends together the world of 1291 and how what happened then affects the people of post 9/11 NYC (and the world)...i have a little over 100 pages to go!! i should be reading rather than blogging, lol

"educating esme" is another book that i just finished -- my teacher this past fall read us parts of it, but i saw it at the library and had to check it out! now i want to find a copy to buy :)

i have been able to do some scrappin' just for me lately...i desperately need to get my table cleaned off so i can scrap at the table! i have been sitting on the FLOOR to scrap!! it is very tiring to do this...

well, i think that is about what has been happening in my life lately! blog ya' later!

come next tuesday, august 1st, i will have been a blogger for one whole year!!! what should i do to celebrate?

so the job hunt is still going...i "love" getting the letters that say "we recieved your resume and are reviewing applications."...then i never hear from them again! grrrrr!!! tomorrow i have an interview at 1 p.m...it sounds like a good job, and i think it would be fun :)

today i cut my thumb with a knife...i was cutting a tomato...hurts if i push on it, lol, so i just don't!

other than cutting myself, i did nothing today of any importance...and tomorrow, other than the interview, will basically be the same...

postponed

the interview i was to have this morning at 10, has been postponed until 1 P.M. on friday!! i don't know if that is good or bad, lol

so, since i had the time today, i did some scrapping & went to Omaha Steaks with my dad (burgers & beef tips were on sale!!)...chruch was tonight...

tomorrow i am planning to scrap some more (YAY!) and clean a little (maybe, lol)

just a quick note!

i ran some quick errands this morning, ate lunch, put gas in my car (for $2.94/gallon about an hour before it went to $3.07/gallon!!)

did some scrappin' for me today, too! finished an entire mini book with the pics from my trip to minnesota :) used the cool Making Memories BoHo Chic line...i am happy with it :)

not much else today...tomorrow i have an interview (10 A.M. and i should leave my house between 9:15 and 9:30 to get there early/on time), so i guess i should go to bed! lol

i had an interview this morning (kind of stupid in the end...grrrrrrrrr) then after i ate lunch, i went shopping JUST FOR ME!

first i went to target (my fave!!) & got some $1 spot things to use in my scrappin' area (magnetic containers, mini lunch boxes to alter) & some AWESOME drawers from their kids design your room cowgirl line & some resume paper (truly needed!!)
then i headed to the mall & looked at lane bryant (but bought nothing)

next was old navy -- i got 3 tanks (lovin' them this summer!) and some earrings for my secret pal at church

last was for keeps sake where i bought some fun little things to use to make a little book from my trip to minnesota earlier this month...and some other fun stuff for all sorts of projects...i was also able to get to adhesive refills (FINALLY!) and i got to see & touch some of the awesome new things coming out this fall & winter!!

went to costco -- bought some meatballs for the freezer & then a bunch of other needed, but non refridgerated items (paper towels, bottled water, etc)

went to dierbergs -- stocked the fridge & freezer well

went to my brothers -- got our food from his fridge & freezer (not too much, but some)

i guess we will go to omaha steaks this week & get some more meat!




other than that -- i have an interview tomorrow at 11 for a travel agent position -- would certainly be a fun & exciting thing if i got to travel!! i also have an interview on wednesday for a preschool teaching position...

WE HAVE LIFTOFF!

or power as the case may be!! our power went out at 6 P.M. on Wednesday...it was back on about 6:30 P.M. today (Saturday!)...spent 2 nights here (the cooler ones) and one night we slept at church :) tooks lots of drives & trips to just sit at church...lots of eating out...tomorrow will be going to the grocery store, etc...

wednesday notes....

today has been relaxing INSIDE to avoid the heat (weather.com says it is 99 with a heat index of 109 right now...who knows what it could have been! but i am suspecting 101!!!)...no rain here for awhile!! places around us have gotten some pop up severe storms (1 inch hail, etc) but nothing here....and we need it!!!

other than avoiding the heat i have gotten cans together for church, done some dishes and read an entire book...

tonight is burgers for dinner (won't my dad have fun out in the heat grilling lol) and then church...i am also going to meet with my pastor about VBS on saturday :) i am going to be teaching the kiddos who come...

friday my car has a check up (30,000 miles PLUS a new hubcap from last week lol)

next week i have an interview on wednesday (a preschool teaching position which is always fun)...i have a fewmore resumes to get out this week, but i have to get some more resume/nicer that plain white paper to use -- i am all out!! i am also now waiting on a call from another place to set up an interview (travel agent?!?!)

feelin' hot hot HOT!

hit 98+ today (withOUT the humidity!!)...suppose to hit 99+ tomorrow, 100+ on tuesday...bleck! too hot to do anything! i stayed in my jammies all day and did nothing since it is so darn hot out! hoping to do similar tomorrow, but i guess i may actually do some work around the house or some scrapping...

today was a fun & busy day -- ran some quick errands and such in the A.M. and went to a class at For Keeps Sale with Elsie Flannigan in the P.M. -- we worked on a hometown mini book...all i got done were some pictures in (most, i need just a couple more) and painting; i need to work on it & get it finished soon so it is not just another half baked project sitting around! lol





AND, elsie & i have the same kind of car...i parked across from her's & as we walked out of FKS together, she said, "it looks like they're kissing" -- too cute!!

seems like i got nothing done today.....

so today i had a fairly easy list of things to do (about 14 or so things on it)...i got just over half done...i could have easily finished them ALL, but i got a NAIL in one of my tires!!! so i had to take it in to Dobbs & get it replaced....so tomorrow i have to finish that list & do laundry & i have a class at the LSS (with Elsie Flannigan!)....hopefully i will make it!

i am home!!

i got home yesterday! WOOHOO!! i need to do some things (job hunt stuff, pictures developed, etc) but i do not want to drive at all right now, lol! i am so so SO tired of driving!!!! yesterday we left iowa city at 7:30 AM...stopped ONE TIME for gas...drove to owensville to drop off Carolyn...to my house (after filling the gas tank) at 2:15!! went to the LSS to pick up my DT stuff (some fun papers!) and went to bed early -- got just about 12 hours of sleep last night :) love that feeling!!

now to do some job stuff and relax today...

road trip day 4 - on the way home

today was the last day of the rally...had another devotion & study (VERY COOL PASTOR MONDAY!) and then a worship service...headed out right after that to start the trek home...

somewhere off 169 south bound in MN i WENT OFF THE ROAD! over compensated on a swerve -- spun a few times (as you can see!) -- we are both okay....my car is fine (missing a hubcap, but no scratches, dents, etc) -- the backseat looked like a blender had hit it!!

made it to iowa city for the night...sat in the hot tub for a little bit then came on here...now to BED! i need the sleep! early start tomorrow, too :)

so this is really from monday, lol....

more devotions & studies & free time...went on a pontoon boat ride (FUN!)...the teens had an amazing race-esque experience & had the chance to do all sorts of things...

minnesota does not mark their roads well, so it is very easy to get lost at various points during the day and go at least 100 miles out of the way back tracking ans such...it probably should have taken about 3 hours, it took almost 5 (maybe more!)...i was frustrated, pissed, crabby...but FINALLY!!! the real test will be tomorrow when we try and LEAVE!

internet not working last night when we got in, that's why you are getting day 2 now :)

dinner, devotion & some free time...nothing too exciting...

i will try and get on again tomorrow (probably in whatever hotel we stay at tomorrow night on our way home)...

road trip day 1

made it to minnesota!!

left at a little after 7 am...stopped for lunch/gas/etc in cedar rapids -- in chech village! ate peiroges then walked through a museum...

got to the hotel about 6 pm...hopped a shuttle the the mall of america at 6:30...walked the mall (3+ miles for the 3 floors) and shopped for 3 hours then hopped a shuttle back to the hotel...hung out at the pool for a little bit now back in the room hanging out on-line :)

i drive! all the way to MALL OF AMERICA!!! i have a few little things to pick up, etc. before i leave tomorrow (bug spray/sunscreen & a car wash)...plus i have to do laundry & pack...

so, i have a very busy afternoon (i am planning on going to bed BY 10 tonight since we leave at 7 and i am driving the WHOLE way)

fun day!

my interview seemed to go well...i hope to hear more on monday -- it sounds like a really fun job! it would truly be an interesting change of pace, and i think i would do really well at it (not to be conceited)

THEN, i went to a small paper arts/rubber stamp store & found a chick stamp to use in the circle journals i am doing (our group name is the chipboard chicks, lol)

after that i got lunch and came home, and right after i finished eating my friend wendy called & we hung out for awhile just putzing around and shopping...

came home, got gas ($2.81/gallon instead of $2.99/gallon like some places have already gone to!), then headed to the grocery store...

now i am home & relaxing :)

upcoming stuff...

well, i have an INTERVIEW tomorrow...it is a consulting/counciling/sales position with forever network (funeral homes, cemetaries, funerals, cremations, they also do digital slide shows & videos for funerals, families, military members, schools, businesses, etc)...so who knows!!


so, thursday will be the interview & i need to go get my bull frog sunscreen (my neighbor said i could find it at Uncle Sam's miliatry surplus type place....i have always wanted to go there, lol)...i also want to go take pictures around my church for use on the webpage we are creating...


friday is laundry, packing for minnesota, cleaning out the car, etc...i am also planning on seeing my pal wendy that day! then i get to see my Godson, Ian! yay!!

then saturday i leave!!! i hope to be able to blog while i am gone, so keep checkin' & see what life is like in minnesota, lol

what a sale!!

my LSS -- For Keeps Sake (link to your right) -- had a progressive sale....Friday everything in the back room was 50% off, Saturday 60% off, Sunday 75% off and today 90% off!!!! i spent $11, instead of $102!! WOOHOO!!!! got some awesome deals & some very fun things to play with soon :)

i hope it cools off soon, i want to clean my car out today...otherwise i will go down & scrap some...

made some macaroni salad today -- and my hard boiled eggs were PERFECT! i have never done that before! yummy!!! i love macaroni salad, and i made enough to last us a few days, so it is all good :)

at some point this week i need to go get some sunscreen & bug repellant for my trip -- i hear the mosquitos i minnesota are as big as cars -- i saw an ad for "Bull Frog Sunblock" that is BOTH a sunscreen & a bug repellant, i just hope i can find some & that it isn't too too expensive...other than that, i think i am ready for the trip :)

change of plans!!

i was suppose to leave at about NOON this coming saturday for a youth rally...well, carolyn & i are leaving at 7 AM instead and spending the night near the MALL OF AMERICA!!!! we are leaving earlier so we can SHOP! woohoo!!!

so, we will drive & shop on saturday...church, drive & start the rally on sunday...rally on monday....rally & drive tuesday....drive home on wednesday! whew! lots of driving for me!!!!

saturday night...

i was able to scrap again today -- WOO!! i got 4 pages done -- one just for me & 3 in my circle journal, so it is ready to go in a few weeks!! i even started to sort through my area (again!) and have a box going to go to a good home (need to find a charity or something to take some of it)...now to finish cleaning it, but that will take some time, lol

all the laundry got done today, which is truly a miracle, lol, it always takes a day & a half because i get to lazy to go down & bring the last load up...but everything is done!!

nothing else happened today...tomorrow is a (quick) meeting at church with the girl who is going to minnesota with me, so that will be fun! this time next week i will be in minnesota (hopefully at a hotel for the night)...
